THE LAW OF THE HARVEST

The year was 1891. The place was Stanford University. The occasion? A concert that had been scheduled by an ambitious 18-year-old college student. The weather was rainy and depressing. The student had enrolled at Stanford with little money. Orphaned at 8 years of age, he was forced to get odd jobs just to survive.

On this rain-soaked evening, he’d scheduled the famous pianist, PADEREWSKI, to perform a concert. The attendance was so poor this young college student was unable to meet the expenses and keep the commitments he had previously promised. When PADEREWSKI learned of the boy’s predicament, he refused to accept his normal fee and thanked the young man for even inviting him to come.

Your future will be nothing more and nothing less than a harvest from the seeds you are sowing today.

Some thirty years later, PADEREWSKI was serving as Premier of Poland. The world was recovering from the wounds of the first World War. Europe was at the brink of hopelessness and starvation. 3,000 miles away, in the United States, a man was collecting food.

One day, the man with the food knocked on the door of the Premier of Poland. “Sir,” he said, “I have come to assist the starving people of Poland. Would you consider this as partial payment for the fee you cancelled 30 years ago at Stanford University?” And with that HERBERT HOOVER had paid his debt.

The story is true and so is the unalterable principle: whatever you sow, you will also reap.

Your future will be nothing more and nothing less than a harvest from the seeds you are sowing today.

So what are you sowing?
