• Do Something Weird This Summer

For many people, Memorial Day weekend ushers in the summer “season.” Labor Day ends it. (IMO, schools stay in session too long and start too early.) Kids of all ages need the break summer provides, even the oldest among us.

In The Parable of the Ten Minas (Luke 19:11-27), which we studied last week, JESUS laid out the importance of being faithful and made it clear: the rewards are incredible. (If you missed it, WATCH IT HERE!)

Faithfulness isn’t just a one-time thing or a some-time thing. It’s supposed to be an all-the-time thing. In Revelation 2:10, JESUS said, “Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.”

Too many churches and church members are great on the faithfulness deal UNTIL Memorial Day weekend gets here. Then, for some reason they take a break until Labor Day and it’s, “Okay, we've got to get back in the routine of being faithful again.”

Faithfulness isn’t just a one-time thing or a some-time thing. It’s supposed to be an all-the-time thing.

That may be the normal way of doing things in most churches. But at Crossroads our people are different … and this summer we’re encouraging our entire Crossroads’ family not just to be different, but to BE WEIRD!!

How can we do it? SIMPLE …

But how is it possible to stay CONNECTED, INVOLVED and FAITHFUL if we go away for a few days vacation this summer? First of all, prayer has no limits and you can pray for your church no matter where you are.

Don’t miss a single service. When you’re in town, be in your place at Crossroads. Serving. Encouraging. Helping. Worshipping. Participating. But even if you’re away you can still be here, just WATCH ONLINE. You don’t have to miss a thing.

Don’t miss a single Sunday. When you’re here or even when you are away, GIVE ONLINE. That way you can keep supporting the Lord’s work in June, July and August, even though you may be away. And don’t forget The Chest of JOASH. Your generosity is helping provide an amazing, one-of-a-kind facility for teenagers to know Christ and grow in their walk with Him.

All summer long we’re going to be encouraging you and all of our people not to be normal, but to stay connected, stay involved and stay faithful – even though you may be out of town. Because summertime is no time for business as usual or even to be normal like so many others.

Its time to BE WEIRD!!
