WE BELIEVE MORE THAN EVER

We are raising the funds needed to build a new youth building. This project represents the largest expansion in Crossroads’ 45-year history. The building is approximately 75,000 sq. ft. in size, the same size as our new children's building and half the size of our main facility. The new Youth building will be on the northeast side of our main facility next to our children's building.

We were a church of approximately 1,600 when we built Crossroads' current facility and raised over $15 million to pay cash for it. We are now a church of over 7,000.

We have made the building of this facility a matter of faithful, fervent prayer and stepped out in faith to trust God to do something so big that He has to be in it for it to succeed.

WE STILL BELIEVE God can do the impossible. Jesus said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.” (Mark 10:27)

WE BELIEVE God is already doing something here at Crossroads that represents not only the greatest step of faith we’ve ever taken as a church, but also represents one of those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities few churches ever have the privilege to experience.

We’re asking you to pray every day that God will lead us, bless us and provide through us all the resources needed to completely pay for our new youth building. We plan to pay cash for everything and not incur a single dollar of debt to do what WE BELIEVE God is calling us to do for our kids, our community and for Christ. We’re asking you to seek the Lord and to ask Him to sovereignly and supernaturally enable all of us to give something we’ve never given before so we can do something we never dreamed before.

When you give to help build this building, remember everything we give must be above and beyond our regular giving to Crossroads. You can give online or place your gift in the Chest of Joash whenever you come to worship. Or, you can mark your check or offering envelope for WE BELIEVE when you give in one of the giving boxes. Or you can mail it to the church office.

Hopefully this information gives you a better idea of what’s happening and what will be happening over the next few months and years. These are exciting days at Crossroads! What a privilege to get to be a small part of what God is doing right now, and what He is getting ready to do through all of us.

Our prayer is that over the next few months each person who calls Crossroads their church home will get to the place where we all are saying, “WE BELIEVE MORE THAN EVER!” And together, we can put our faith into action (James 2:17).

HOW IT WORKS

How will I determine how much to give to We Believe More Than Ever?

No one would ever tell you how much to give or ask you to give a certain amount. That’s between you and the Lord. Individual giving to We Believe More Than Ever should be proportionate to God’s individual blessings in our lives. We won’t all give the same amount. But we can all give with the same amount of sacrifice.

Paul told the Corinthians, “But just as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.” (2 Corinthians 8:7) He went on to say, “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). We Believe More Than Ever is an opportunity for each of us to give cheerfully, joyfully and enthusiastically for something that will have both an immediate and long-term impact while also leaving a legacy that will last way beyond any of us.

Everything we have today as a church family–all of the people who call Crossroads home, the incredible outreach of our church reaching hundreds and thousands for Christ every year not only in Texas but all over the world, our beautiful, debt-free campus, the great facilities God has blessed us with, the numerous ministries and outstanding missionaries we have–are the result of the sacrificial, generous giving of our Crossroads’ family.

William James said, “The greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.”

That’s what We Believe More Than Ever is all about!

Are there other ways to give to We Believe More Than Ever? Yes.

You can donate online.

You can give a one-time gift now, a weekly gift or a monthly gift and you can give at any time. No gift is too large. No gift is to small and every gift will help make a difference for eternity.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Answers to common questions about We Believe.

Q: What can our church expect to gain from this new facility?

A: Besides the advantage of having more room to grow, reach, teach, educate, train, and send thousands of teenagers out into the world, fully equipped to face the world in which we live with faith, purpose and resolve, this facility will also open up a number of other opportunities. Lots of additional outdoor gathering areas. Several new outdoor water features. An outdoor amphitheater, and much more. This new building will also open up room in our current facility for new classrooms and assembly areas for adults, singles and college age young people.

Q: Will our church incur any debt on this building?

A: No. Our commitment is to build both buildings with cash.

Lots of additional outdoor gathering areas. Several new outdoor water features. An outdoor amphitheater, and much more. Q: Will our church incur any debt on this building?

A: No. Our commitment is to build both buildings with cash.

Q: Isn’t the concept of sacrifice a hard sell given our country's economic challenges?

A: Not all all. As the song says, “Love so amazing, so divine. Demands my life, my soul, my all.” Sacrifice simply means “giving up something I love for something I love even more.” Love for God and for thousands of unreached children and teenagers will stir deeply within the hearts of our people and the response will be incredible. Love for us caused God to give His greatest gift. Our love for Him ought to motivate us to give our best back to Him.

Q: How will we raise the resources needed for the new youth building?

A: We’re asking people to pray and ask God to enable them to “give something they’ve never given before.” How can you do this? Simple. Listen to God’s voice and then do what He says. Each family is asked to give sacrificially as they are able, over and above their regular contributions to Crossroads. While we obviously cannot all give the same amount, we can all give with the same amount of sacrifice. For most of us, a project of this size will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We want to pray about giving a gift that will leave a legacy for our kids, our grand-kids and the future generations.

Q: Why should we give to the building project?

A: Because it will help us accomplish our mission. “Crossroads seeks to connect people to God and to one another.” Our church has never been about “sticks and stones.” We’re all about “flesh and bones.” The two main reasons we are building these buildings is to provide a place where more children and youth can hear about Jesus, and to help us reach their families.

Because the most effective time to reach people for Christ is when they are young. Researcher, George Barna, indicated that nearly half of all Americans who accept Jesus Christ as their Savior do so before reaching the age of 13 (43%), and that two out of three born again Christians (64%) made that commitment to Christ before their 18th birthday. One out of eight born again people (13%) made their profession of faith while 18 to 21 years old. Less than one out of every four born again Christians (23%) embraced Christ after their 21st birthday. Barna noted that these figures are consistent with similar studies it has conducted during the past 20 years. Research confirms if we are going to reach people for Christ, we need to focus our efforts when they are young.

Because the best investment we can ever make is in people – especially kids. Luke 16:9 says, “I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.” Using our resources to help people go to Heaven is not the only thing we can do with our money – but it is the “best” thing we can do with our money. And the return on our investment is eternal.

Because we are being given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The timing couldn’t be better to be building a new youth building. Our nation’s economic problems, while presenting a trying time for many, have produced an environment where building costs are much lower than normal, which allows us to get more for our money.

Because Crossroads has “come to the Kingdom for such a time as this.” (Esther 4:14) There is a reason God has brought every one of us to this church at this time. There is a reason God has blessed us with this campus and these facilities and to have them completely paid for. Why? So we can take the next step to reach more people than we ever dreamed in the years ahead.
